Captivating & Cowboy
Well I'll have to say that it has been a journey and many lessons learned. So much progress for the first 44 days. Cap had a traumatic pick up and it took awhile for him to begin trusting again. He had taken to the sadlle well and was ponying, loading and driving. picking up his rear feet was still on the goal list but he had settled nicely. Unfortunately the first ride also became his last, at least for awhile. Overton was doing a great job of staying in the saddle until Cap lost balance in midair. As he hurdled down to the ground Overton could not break away in time and his right foot caught the brunt of the blow. Six fractures later he is still waiting for surgery and Cap isn't warming up to anyone else. In hindsight, Overton knows he moved too quickly and it wasn't Caps day to ride. Now of course, he has alot of time to think about it.
