Hey trainers,
Everyone is doing such a fantastic job. Sara you can send some of that rain to us. Here in South/Central Texas we are soooo dry and hot, just broke the record for the longest time hitting triple digit temps and no relief in sight. Kirstin trains early in the morning and late evening. Yesterday, she worked mostly with TAZ the mustang we adopted at last year's makeover. She is dying to carry a flag on his back, she wants so badly to use him in her drill team. TAZ hates the flag. Will eat alongside it, play with it but put it above him and he freaks. We can circle round and round him, touch him with it, but no on the carrying just yet. Might have to try a different approach.
Tuff is doing wonderful. Kirstin has to be the luckiest girl around. He is such a smart little guy and so easy going. She was having problems with backing and trotting at a lead, but if yesterday is any indication, the problem seems to have been solved. He backed with very little pressure, and trotted off immediately when Kirstin started jogging with him-no pulling YEAH!!! But, she has worked continuosly on both day in and day out. And will continue to-we all know that just because they do it once, doesn't mean they will do it again.
Keep up the good work everyone.
