Smokey's progress
We enjoy reading everyones progress. Kristin, you are doing so great with your horse! I especially enjoy hearing about the teenagers who are so excited about their horses. As an "oldie, goldie" who taught high school for over thirty years - I think it is worderful for teenagers to get involved with horses, because the saying "The backside of a horse is good for the inside of a person" is so true. Good job teens, keep up the good work!
Smokey is coming along nicely. I do not have any new pictures. As a grandmother, I have had grandchildren duty - so Doc has just been doing his thing with Smokey without photos. We did have one "set back" - Smokey was so good to bridle and loved being scratched around his face and ears, until last week - one day he just went "crazy" when Doc tried to put the bridle on him. A closer look confirmed that he had ear ticks. He was easier to doctor than some of our other horses, and after a few days, he is back to normal and getting easier to handle everyday.
Hope some of you Texas people got the nice rain this past weekend - we did not - one small shower that cooled it off for the day - now we are back to hot and extremely dry.
