Rainmaker & Tyler's Visit

Tyler and Rainmaker came and stayed with us this past week. Teryn had a great deal of fun with them. We enjoyed Tyler's company, as well as seeing Rainmaker again!

DontSkipCody - one week to go!

the "code-ster" has been making great progress in the past two weeks. We had a small setback while i was at a wedding out of town the weather turned, and cody lost a good 10-15 lbs, that and our indoor arena flooded due to a water issue.

So we moved him over to my mom's ranch and he was blanketed, and coddled (he totally loved it) for two weeks, and then began taking him on the trails. This horse is a WORKHORSE! he may not have the best confirmation, but he sure makes up for it in brains!

Not only does he walk through water like it is no issue, he drinks from our pond instead of walking to the water trough and tought my water fearful horses how to do it too!

when another horse spooks on the trail he gives them "the look" and walks past the "monster" like a pro.

It is hard to believe that this guy is only 3 and I can see where he will be with another 90 days on him!

I have used him for riding lessons, have had my own 4 year old ride him, and actually have stood on his back- he dont care!

recently had a few small issues we worked with - he tends to be lazy and locks up his shoulders, but now i have him walk, trot, and canter both ways with minimal hesitation.

god i love this little horse!

How is everybody doing with their "stangs"? Haven't heard much from anyone lately. Didn't mean to take up all the space!! Lol Somebody e-mail us and let us know whats going on. Or update the blog, would love to see your progress. We are having a Blast!!!

Well rain has forced us inside to practice. We were blessed with the use of an indoor facility until the competition near us. We took our grandaughter with us cause she has to go everywhere Big Daddy does anyway and it proved to our advantage. I have posted some pictures with her and 2Cool. He really lives up to his name here!!! Getting closer just 13 days!! Hope everybody is doing good!!!

PARADE Day

He is the pix of our grandaughters on 2Cool at the parade

PARADE Day

2cool went to his first parade Saturday. He was fantastic!! We got there a couple hours early by mistake so there was plenty time to kill. In this time he was exposed to numerous other horses of every kind and wagons of every size. His biggest expossure however was to the train tracks and the TRAIN. It came thru while we were waiting for the parade and he never did a thing but look up. It had all the horns and whistles going.. He definitely lived up to his name!! He also rode my grandaughters, one 5 and the other 9 mo. as you can see in the pix!! I can't say enough about how COOL he is; literally!! We went to the arena after the parade in our hometown and practiced the obstacle course as we think it might be. By the way if anybody can give us some ideas of the course let us know. He did great on the tarp the rain slicker and the L shape walk thru, a little rusty on backing tho but we still have time for that!!

Kizer

Well we had a BIG set back on Wednsday. We went trail riding and were loping through a field when Kizer fell and landed right on me. I got knocked out and now have a sprained knee and shoulder. Not to mention a really bad concusion. So I'm not suppose to ride for like two weeks, but we all know that is just not possible, so as soon as I can bear weight on my knee we will be back at it. He is doing so well. When I fell he stayed right with me and even let me use my reins and his neck to stand back up. Unfortantley that's all I can remember of that night! I'll try to update more as it comes. Hope everyone else is doing well
