Anyone who knows Kirstin knows that this has been a dream of hers for a very long time-bringing the American Flag in on a Mustang! And on 10/24, it came true. We took Kirstin & Kryptonite to the BLM Wild horse & Burro show in Belton, TX. She and a friend posted the colors for the event. Kryptonite did wonderful considering this was the first time for him to do anything like this. They had 1 practice about a week before the show. She was all smiles when she was done.

Not only did they post the colors, but they competed in the show as well. Keep in mind that Kirstin has never showed a horse other than in the Mustang Makeover. In the halter classes, they didn't place, but once the saddle was on, they were a force to be reckoned with. There was
no stopping these 2. Kirstin & Krypt took 1st place in the Trail course, 2nd place in Western pleasure, 5th place in barrels(his first ever barrel race), won overall greenbroke champion of the show, and they also received the Mustang Heritage Award for high point youth riding a MHF horse. Kirstin's older sister also competed with Krypt and took 3rd in Western Pleasure in the adult class. Not too shabby for the first time for all of them.
BLM folks were impressed with Krypt. They couldn't believe that he was just 4 months out of the pens as they put it. A huge thanks goes to Matt Replogle for doing such an excellent job training Krypt-I trust that horse completely with my kids!
Our other Makeover horse-Dynamite is doing great also, he was suppose to go to the show as well, but he wouldn't load in the trailer. I was rushed for time and you know what they say about rushing a horse while trying to load. Instead of possibly causing bigger troubles, I decided to leave him home. Kirstin's older sister was extremely upset because Dyno is "her" horse, but in the end she understood that I had his best interest in mind. I also trust Dyno completely with my kids-a big thanks goes to Joe Weitekamp for such a good job with Dyno as well.
Kirstin also got to talk to the lady who adopted Tuff. She is an employee with the Oklahoma BLM office and she was there for the adoption portion of this show. Tuff is doing great, has a new best friend and has grown a lot since the makeover.
